We currently have a position for a Distribution Operator within our pallet network operation based at our site in Newton Aycliffe. The successful candidate will work alongside an established pallet network distribution team and will assist in the smooth and safe running of our transport operations.
Duties will be wide-ranging and will include the following:
- Responding and actioning messages via Transport Systems and email as required.
- Rearrange deliveries and update charges and our TMS accordingly.
- Ensure timed deliveries are planned and able to be achieved.
- Ensure collections are planned and collected.
- Update previous day’s daily service reports.
- Liaise with delivery points, including RDCs to arrange delivery bookings.
- Check pricing and job reports.
- Provide cover elsewhere within the department for holidays and sicknesses as needed.
Candidates must be able to provide a high level of customer service.
Candidates will be expected to carry out any other relevant duties as requested by the Line Manager to ensure the effective performance of the operations function.
Candidates must be flexible to work between the hours of 0600 and 1800. A willingness to work nights to cover holidays and absences would also be preferable.
We are looking for someone with a good attitude, maturity and dynamism, who is highly organised and able to work on their own initiative. A high level of IT literacy is essential. Experience in the transport or logistics industries is essential and pallet networks highly desirable..
Salary negotiable dependent on expertise and experience.
